When are you people just going to get over slavery?

I had a conversation with one of my co-workers the other day about race. This is a white dude, and we have talked about race before. We have had the conversation about "why can you say nigger and I can't". We have had the conversation about Jesse and Al, and how he thought they were racist. We have talked about crime and drug dealing and all the stereotypes about black men that he had grown up believing. You see this dude was born privileged, whereas I was born one cornflake away from starving,so this dude and I are complete opposites, but we are cool like that.

Anyways....

We started this conversation off with a movie that we both enjoyed, THE BANK JOB. This is a pretty good movie. For those of you that have not seen it, it is about a crew of second rate thieves that are tasked by the British government to break into a bank vault and steal some pictures of one of the Royals getting her freak on with two big black bucks. Of course the thieves do not know it is the government that they are working for, or what they are actually stealing. The rub is that the guy that has the pictures is a Black revolutionary, pimp and drug dealer, that is blackmailing the government with these pictures in order to stay out of jail.

Well, in one scene the pimp puts a dog collar around a white man's neck and says he is going to bend him to his will the same way the white man's ancestors had bent his ancestors to their will.

Well my coworker said that this scene pissed him off, and his question was.....

When are Black people going to get over slavery?

He wanted to know why we blame him for something that his great-grandfather did 140 years ago.

Well, like I said, me and this dude have gone down this road before. I like talking to him because by talking out our differences we learn that we are really not to far apart in our thought process.

I had to explain to him that even though the great emancipator did free the slaves 140 years ago, he did not really grant us any freedom. We were still slaves mentally and in some cases physically. We were still looked at as being inferior to the "master" race. I proceeded to tell him that if you wanted to get technical about it, we did not see any real freedom until the 60's.

The 1960's.

40 some years ago.

I told him that even though slavery was a very bad thing, slavery was not really the problem. There have been slaves since the beginning of time. Black people were not the first slaves in History, and we won't be the last.

The problem was (and in some cases still is), the treatment of the slaves.
Treating people like animals is not a good thing.
Denying basic human rights to a fellow human is bad.
Eliminating a person's culture, religion, language and heritage is not good.
Forcing a person to accept another religion, culture, language and heritage and then treating them like an outsider when they are doing everything that is asked of them, is very, very bad.

I told him that this is why slavery is still a very sore subject with American Blacks.
I told him that most Black Americans do not blame today's white person for anything. But I told him that there are still some white people today that have the same views that their great-grandparents had.

I told him that American Blacks are playing catch-up in a game that is being orchestrated by the powers (white)that be.I told him that most American Blacks have not figured out the rules to this game because the rules keep changing. When ever a Black person gets close to learning the rules, the powers (white) that be do a change up and make an amendment.

Example.... White People have been voting based on race since they came up with the the rules for voting, but when a black man gets elected to lead them based on the rules they came up with, now voting based on race is a bad thing?

I told him that is why we act the way we do. It is proven everyday that we will not be treated fairly under the rules that we are forced to obey, so we have to make our own.

Contrary to popular belief, the playing field is not level, even with a half-black man as president.

If it is white, it's alright

“Feminism was established so as to allow unattractive women easier access to the mainstream of society.”

“The NAACP should have riot rehearsal. They should get a liquor store and practice robberies.”

“They oughtta change Black History Month to Black Progress Month and start measuring it.”

“The only way to reduce the number of nuclear weapons is to use them.”

“Then there are the 22 million Americans on food stamps. And of course there are the 39 million greedy geezers collecting Social Security. The greatest generation rewarded itself with a pretty big meal.” (12/10/03)

“[Canadians] better hope the United States does not roll over one night and crush them. They are lucky we allow them to exist on the same continent.” (11/30/04)

“Liberals hate America, they hate flag-wavers, they hate abortion opponents, they hate all religions except Islam, post 9/11. Even Islamic terrorists don’t hate America like liberals do. They don’t have the energy. If they had that much energy, they’d have indoor plumbing by now.”

I will give you 3 chances to guess who said the above mentioned quotes.

Hint....He is in the above picture.

Now this is the same asshole that just called the President's pick for the supreme court a "REVERSE RACIST."

Here is the quote from Judge Sotomayor... "A wise Latina woman with the richness of her experience would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn't lived that life."

Her quote is stupid, but I understand it.I understand it because people like Limpdick have been misjudging people like me and Judge Sotomayor since this country started. I agree with her. If you don't know me or even tried to get to know me, you have no right to judge me, or what I do. You have no right to decide my fate if you have not been where I have been.

That is just how I feel. Is my feeling wrong? It could be. Depends on who you ask.

But it is MY opinion.

Anyways....

Could someone tell me what a "reverse racist" is?

I mean, correct me if I am wrong, but according to the white man that wrote the dictionary, a racist is.....
: a person with a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race.

I tried to google "reverse racist" to see what it is, and guess what, It ain't a word.

Nope. Sorry Limpdick, it is not a word.
So what does the leader of the Rethugs mean by the term he obviously made up?

Now, so am I to gather that from the above quotes from the man that likes a good RUSH, compared to what Judge Sotomayor said, is what, straight on racism, instead of reverse racism?

So if a white person says something stupid, it is acceptable racism, but if someone that knows what racism is says something stupid it is "reverse racism?"

If it is white, it's alright.

I don't know anything about Judge Sotomayor. I have not googled her yet.

All I know is that she is a boriqua from the boogie down Bronx.

From what I have gathered on CNN,she grew up pretty much the same way I did. Her parents worked hard and instilled good values in her. She clawed her way to the position she is in, and from what I have seen in the media she does not deserve the criticism that this sorry excuse for an AmeriKKKKan is putting on her.

I am all for freedom of speech.

Everyone has the right to say whatever the hell they want, to whom ever they want, wherever the hell they want.

But just because you have the right to do something, it doesn't make it right to do it.

I have been told in the past that if you do dirt, you get dirt.

And right now, Rush Limpdick, all the bitches that listen to his bullshit, are very dirty motherfuckers.

The past is exactly where it should be, behind us

I have written two blogs about Michael Vick. The FIRST one was when he first went to prison, the SECOND was when his people came up with that lame ass idea about how he expects to continue his reign as the top money maker in the NFL upon his release from prison.

This will be my third and and final installment of my Michael Vick saga.

In this post I am not going to bash Mr. Ron Mexico.

I am going to bash all those hypocrites in America that preach all day about redemption and rehabilitation and forgiveness and giving second chances to people that have made mistakes, but forget all that "love thy brother" shit when ever it is not convenient or politically correct for them.

I am going to hit in the head all those motherfuckers that place an animal's life above a humans.

I am going to talk bad about all those hating ass sports commentators that think that just because they know who scored the first touchdown in the first Superbowl, that gives them the right to judge somebody.

Yep all the above mentioned bastards can die a very slow and agonizing death.

All those people that think they have the right to judge a man who has already been judged by a federal judge can kiss by Black Ass.

All those fake ass Christians and religious Zealots that feel the need to pass judgement on people, while they stand by and watch their pastors bilk their congregations out of millions of dollars a year, can go straight to the hottest part of hell.

I am in no way endorsing what Mr. Vick did. I am an avid Dog Lover. In fact my beloved Dog, Snowball, just had to be put down because he had an incurable nerve disorder. That dog was part of my family and I loved him dearly. I think about him everyday, so I think what Mr. Vick did was deplorable.

But, (yes here is the but), Michael Vick did what was required of him by the Federal Government to atone for and pay for his crimes. He passed all the tests that were set before him. He abided by the stipulations that the court placed upon him. He has suffered financially, spiritually and mentally. He has lost "friends", probably some family members and the trust of some people that once depended on him.

However, there are some people in this country that think that he should pay more. They think that he does not deserve to pursue his chosen occupation because of his past crimes. They think that just because he killed dogs, he should be labeled an axe murderer and have to be stigmatized the rest of his life like a convicted sex offender.

There are some organizations that think that Michael Vick should have gotten a harsher sentence than what he got.

I would bet you my next 3 paychecks that if the role were reversed and it was these assholes that are condemning Mr. Vick, and they were the ones that were looking to start over, they would be deathly quiet. They would be begging for public support and they would be screaming about how they have paid their debt to society and they deserve a second chance.

I believe that Mike Vick is a stupid man. I believe that he did what stupid people do, he made stupid choices in friends and he made stupid decisions based on his stupidly.

But he manned up, took the hit and now he wants and needs to move on.

He should be allowed to do so.

At least that is what I think anyway.

Did I just read that?

I would be lying if I told y'all that I do this only to write down my opinion.

It is true I really enjoy using this medium to get my view of thangs out for hundreds of people to see.

I enjoy letting the world know how I feel about different subjects.

However I also enjoy getting comments from people that read my view.

I enjoy reading and replying back to the few people that do read my writings and decide to comment on them.

I do not care if the comments are disagreeing with my view or agreeing with my view.

As long as I don't feel disrespected by whatever it is a person has to say, anything goes.

But,(there is always a but), I cannot stand it when a person comments on whatever I decide to write and it is like they have not even read what I wrote.

Or maybe they read two sentences and comment on only those two sentences.

Case and point.....

My previous post I wrote about how hypocritical some people are when it comes to President Obama's administration. I wrote about the protesters at Notre Dame. I tried to make a point about how Presidents get protesters where ever they go. Not everyone likes the current President, whomever they might be. People would protest Jesus Christ himself if he decided to make a public appearance. I am sure all Presidents (including the Black guy with the funny name that is currently living in the big white house) know this and their people prepare them for it.

Anyways, there was a comment that was left in my comment section by a lady whom I respect and whose opinion I value. I have never met her and I probably never will, but she always leaves comments that make me think.

This comment however pulled my last nerve.

She said something to the effect of President Obama should get used to the protesters and that he doesn't wear a halo and blah blah blah.

I take it from her comment, that she doesn't like our President too much, but she is entitled to her opinion. I ain't mad at her.

Well her comment replayed what I said, only she made it seem like I never said what I said.

You understand what I'm saying?

She basically took two sentences from what I wrote and wrote her comment based on whatever two sentences that she read.

She did not get the meaning of what I was trying to say.

I get this alot. I don't know if my writings are too deep for some people to understand, or if they are not reading my thoughts, but skipping through them.

I try to write this as I would say it. I don't try to be vague or deceptive or hypocritical.

I write about whatever is on my mind at the time. I am not trying to win a popularity contest and I do not want everyone to agree with me. Disagreeing with someone is how you learn.

And I am always trying to learn something new.

But I damn sho wish people would READ EVERY WORD of what I write, before they judge what I write!!

I was always told that if you don't know what you are talking about, then don't talk.

Just some friendly words of advice.

Now I wonder how many people will misread this post.

I really don't know how to get clearer than this.

Some People love throwing Shoes at Presidents

I consider myself a pretty open minded person. I try to listen and learn from every one I come into contact with. I don't care about personal preferences, racial preferences, sexual preferences or any other preferences that somebody might have. I try to treat every person I meet the way I like to be treated. As long as I feel respected, then I will respect you. I have not always been like that. Before I joined the Military I was pretty much one sided on everything. But I have different views now. I still see some things the same, but as a whole I try not to judge and I try to respect other people's views.

I said all that to say this.....

Everybody knows that our President went to Notre Dame this past weekend. Everybody knows that there were some protesters out there. That is going to happen to every President from now until.... whenever. It is a part of being an American President. I don't care if a President finds the cure for cancer and he feeds all Americans with a loaf of bread and a bucket of that new grilled chicken from KFC. No one will always be 100% satisfied.

But what gets me is the fact that these same people that were out there protesting the President, were the same ones that stood deathly quiet when the country was spiraling out of control less than 2 years ago.

Why are they running their traps now?

I was talking to one of my ex-coworkers Saturday and he said some shit that I just do not agree with. He is an older White Dude, that well, for the lack of a better term, is set in his ways. He is one of those people that was sucking on Palin's titties during the election. He swears on his dead mother(god rest her soul) that Obama is fucking the country up, and that we are 10x's worse off now than we ever were under Jr. He was complaining about the stimulus money, he was complaining about terrorism, he was complaining about stem cell research, he was complaining about damn near everything that this administration has done the short 4 months Big O has been sitting in the big seat, in the funny shaped office, in the big White House on 1600 Penn Ave. He cannot stand anything about Obama. He does not even call him the President, he calls him "the savior".

Now Like I said in the opening paragraph, I try to respect other people's opinions. I try to learn from everyone I come into contact with. But the shit this dude was spitting, I had to shake my head in wonder.

Where do people like this get their facts from? How can a man change something in 4 months that has been broken for 8 years? What has Obama done any different from all the other Presidents before him?

Don't they all make promises when they are trying to get elected that they know that they will not keep?

Don't they all shake hands and kiss babies?

Obama is a politician. He is nothing more or nothing less. He has done some shit I don't agree with, but I chalk it up to the game he is involved in.

It is called Politricks.

And our President is good at playing it.

But some of these crazy people in this country are just that, crazy.

Where does the University of Notre Dame get off protesting the President of the United States on his opinion on abortion?

How can any person that is associated with the Catholic Church open their mouths to protest anything that has to do with morality?

Was it moral to allow all those priests to keep molesting the children in their congregation?
Was it moral to keep moving those priests to new locations and try to bribe the victims to keep quiet?
Is it "Christ-Like" to treat one MAN (the pope) like he is the ONLY man that is allowed to go into God's own personal day-room? Doesn't the bible say that there is only one that is worthy of that respect?

It amazes me the mind-set of some of my fellow Americans.
I just don't understand it.

Like I said I don't agree with everything that my President has done in the short time he has been in office.
But he is still the President.
He deserves the respect that the office holds.

Lord knows I thought Jr. and his whole administration was fucked-up. Anyone that has been following my little ole blog knows that. But when that idiot threw his shoes at him, and almost beamed him in the face, that shit pissed me off. Jr. was my President and he deserved the respect that that office holds. As an American I felt totally disrespected by that.

So why doesn't President Obama get that same respect from certain (white)people in this country?

These so called "Christians" trip me out with their 1960 ass way of thinking. It is like they only read certain sentences out of the Bible and ignore the rest of it.

I can't stand them.

All I can say to people with that type of mentality is, Hell is Hot.

Very Very Hot.

'If you ain't cheating you ain't trying'

There is a saying in the Army that goes like this....

'If you ain't cheating, you ain't trying'.

This saying gets said a lot. Especially when a unit is deployed on a training mission and supplies run short.

Example....

One of the lights in our tent went out the other day, and a Private was told to go "acquire" another one from somewhere. Well about an hour later the Private came back with another light.

We asked where he got it and he replied, 'Well Sgt, if you ain't cheating you ain't trying'. Everybody laughed it off, including yours truly.

Well I got to thinking about a comment that my man Rippa left on my previous post. He left a comment that basically said that there is a double standard when it comes to soldiers and their behavior.

I did not take offense to his comment because Rippa is my man. But I still felt the need to defend my beloved fraternity. I replied back to Rippa saying that soldiers and cops should be held to the same standard, but we are not. Well after I got to thinking about the Private "acquiring" the light we needed, I....

Well I have to admit that Rippa has a very valid point.

There are a lot of soldiers that have a superman complex. There are a lot of soldiers that have a 'my way is the only way' mentality.
There is a lot of machoism and "strongman" complexes in the military.

This leads to a problem.

The problem is that some soldiers feel that they cannot be touched due to the training we receive. We are trained constantly in weapons proficiency, physical fitness and hand to hand combat. We are trained on how to survive out in the bush with nothing but a knife and a clean pair of draws.

All this training that we receive leads to a competitive bad-ass attitude that most soldiers, including yours truly, have.

This is why there is a rise in the military of females getting raped. This is why civilians get killed and mistreated.

The same goes with the Police. The Police are trained basically the same way we are.
We both have a lot of power that is way too much for some people to handle.
I like to think that I am in control of my 'superman' complex, but sometimes it does come to the surface.

I find myself doing everything I know how to do to win, no matter what I have to do, in whatever I am doing. If I know that you have a weakness that will give me an advantage, then your weakness will get exploited. If I have to bite, twist nuts or gouge eyes, then you will have my teeth marks, a set of sore nuts, and you will be visiting your eye doctor.

A couple of female Sgts in my unit told me that I have a very competitive nature when it comes to any type of contest. They called me a gambler, but I am not.

I just cannot pronounce the word "loser".

I will play until I am satisfied with my performance. If it takes a week for me to beat your ass, then we will be fighting a week.

I don't know if that is due to my military background or if I have always been like this, but it is what it is.

This is the problem with organizations like mine that give an individual a lot of power they have never had before.

Power is addictive. You want more and more of it.

Some people can handle it, some cannot.

I like to think I am one of the many that can handle it.

At least I have handled it pretty good so far.

Don't Fire until you see the whites of thier eyes!

I am in the Army Reserves after spending 10 years active. I have wrote before about how the military saved my life by getting me off the streets, but some things the Army does is just plain stupid to me.

For example:

ROE (Rules of Engagement) and LOW (Laws of War), for all you folks that do not know your standard military jargon.

Anyways....

I get the basic premise behind these two "ideas", but to me both of them are useless.

I am currently on my two week annual deployment that is mandatory for all Reservists. I was given a class yesterday on the "current" ROE and LOW. I was also tasked by the Brigade JAG Officer to train every member of my company, since everyone needs to know what the ROE and LOW are for this particular exercise.

Anyways, while I was sitting through this boring as all hell class, my mind got to wondering and I had an epiphany about how absurd all this shit is.

Why are there "rules" for warfare?

War is not supposed to be civil. The whole purpose of a war is to KILL your enemy.
If I perceive that you are a threat to me, then I should have the right to eliminate that threat, by any means necessary.

I should not have to wait around for permission to protect myself or the ones I am assigned to protect if there is danger afoot.

I should not have to worry about the repercussions of hooking a captured enemies nuts to a car battery if he refuses to give me information I might need that could save myself and the people I am assigned to protect.

I should not have to worry about the repercussions of blowing up a school, hospital or a religious establishment if my enemy is using those establishments for their base of operations.

I am supposed to KILL my enemy.

Period.

There are no parts of killing that is nice and orderly.I understand that soldiers should not Rape and Pillage and those that do need to be dealt with, but...There is always a but...

Don't tell me how to protect myself when you are sitting in a nice plush office 3 thousand miles away.

All those rules look nice and politically correct on paper, but until you have 'boots on the ground' and can see first hand that the enemy does not play by our rules or even give a damn about our rules, all those "rule makers" and Gentlemen scholars that think that War is sexy and still believe that Wars should still be fought like the 10 step turn and shoot duels of the 1700 and 1800's need to sit down and shut the fuck up.

Those "rules" make us look weak. They bind us to a standard that cannot be met. They limit our effectiveness on the battlefield.
I understand that there are some things that just should not be done, but all that can be eliminated with proper training and recruiting.

But anyways that is my rant for this week.

Hollar at me in the comments!!
